Malcolm Dickson, of Almond Publishing Ltd is a very experienced fisheries and aquaculture scientist, working in the fields of aquaculture, fisheries and development training since 1982. Straight after finishing University he worked in Zambia for 5 years, setting up an intensive tilapia farm on a sugar estate (this also provided the practical work for his Ph.D. on tilapia nutrition) and this was followed by full-time positions in Ireland (setting up a salmon farm), Malawi (a fish farm development project) and Bangladesh (a training/programme support project based in Stirling with extended trips to Bangladesh).

 

Malcolm also had a full-time position for a two year period (mid 2003-mid 2005) as editor of Fish Farmer magazine, associated web-sites and chairman of the inaugural Aquaculture Today conference held in Edinburgh in April 2005.

 

In the period 1996 to 2003 and since 2005 Malcolm has carried out a wide range of short-term assignments as an independent consultant in aquaculture, fisheries and practical training.
